Legal Participants Ontoterminology

The Legal Participants ontoterminology defines the types of legal participants in Classical Athens relevant to the corpus of Attic Oratory. A legal participant can be defined as "an individual or group who either proceeds over, judges, or is otherwise involved in a legal proceeding."

For more about ontoterminologies, visit the TEDI webpage. An ontoterminology follows the Aristotelian notion of definition in which a concept is a unique combination of essential characteristics (i.e. a characteristic that if removed would result in a different concept). Ontoterminology also uses the hypothesis that a term designates a concept.

The Legal Participants ontoterminology has terms in English and ancient Greek.
